Open Rate

The percentage of delivered emails that were opened by recipients.

Open rate = (emails opened / emails delivered) × 100. For cold email, a good open rate is 40-60%. Below 30% usually indicates deliverability issues or poor subject lines. Note: open tracking works by embedding a tiny invisible pixel image. It's not 100% accurate — some email clients block images by default, and Apple Mail's Mail Privacy Protection can inflate open rates. To improve open rates: write compelling subject lines (3-7 words), ensure deliverability is solid, personalize the from name, and test different send times.
